"Friends of the Otter" Renovation Campaign

Over the past 8 years, we have been amazed at the overwhelming support we have received from the community to ensure that this business thrives. The Otter has played host during many happy occasions such as weddings, anniversaries, and birthday parties. It has also played host during sad times as a familiar place to gather with friends and family. We are home to The Ottertail Lions, who have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars that have been given back to the community, and we always make an effort to support local businesses, non-profits, and community initiatives and fundraising efforts whenever we are able. It is safe to say The Otter is so much more than just a bar/restaurant – it is a staple of this community and, with your help, we hope to stick around for a long time!

We are excited to announce that plans are underway for an extensive renovation. Since 2011, every dollar of profit that we have made has gone back into making the business better. We have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on new refrigeration, roofing, air conditioning, electrical work, and more. As you can probably tell, there is A LOT more that needs to be done, and we simply cannot get it done without your help. The current remodel plans are estimated to cost around $350,000 which is more than we are able to cover with normal business operations. As such, we are introducing the “Friends of The Otter” campaign with the hopes of raising money to help offset some of the cost of this project. It is our hope that you are as interested in keeping around this important piece of the community as we are.
